* The PGP component included in this McAfee
Utilities product only supports Windows 95
and Windows 98. It is not currently compatible
to computers running on Windows ME.
* The Tools menu feature of the McAfee First
Aid component has been removed. The functions
available in this feature are now available via
the various improved enhancement features you
will find in McAfee Utilities.

NF1 - NEW FEATURES
For more detailed information or step-by-step
instructions on how to use any of the following
new features, you can either refer to the main
McAfee Utilities or to each of the individual
component help files. Simply click the Help
button (whenever available) to launch the
corresponding online help.
* New Central, more user-friendly
interface. All functions of McAfee
Utilities can be easily accessed
through Central with a Web-like
component look.
* Configuration Assistant. This new feature
allows you to customize how you want
McAfee Utilities to work on your computer.
Through a series of interview screens, you
will be shown information on specific
features and tasks of McAfee Utilities and
will be given the option to set how you want
it to work (e.g., running it automatically).
* Zip Mail. This new feature allows you to
automatically compress any of your email
attachments. File attachments, particularly
when it is a big file, is ideal to compress
so that it can be sent faster.
* New Update feature. With a single click
of the button, the Update feature, in a
one-step process, will do software check,
download and installalation.
* TaskMaster. This new feature enables user
to create or customized Windows startup
configurations. You can specify what
applications to run with its configurations
saved and loaded on demand.
* Active Tune. This new feature prevents
fragmentation of your hard disk by
continously defragmenting it, silently in
background. Without degrading performance,
you can enable or disable it for any
combination of hard drives or partitions
on your computer system.
* McAfee Print Directory. This new feature is
a convenient way in printing file or files
from a specific folder. You can also include
the sub-folders. With McAfee Print Directory,
you do not have to go through each of the files
from a specific folder to print each file one
after the other. You only need to select the
folder where the files are located and click
Print to perform the task.
* EZ Setup now offers a customizable MS Office
configuration tab. This allows users to
customize the Open/Save dialog place bar in
MS Office 2000. It now also has a new logon
message feature that allows user to customize
logon message.
* Registry Pro now has a browser-like interface
that is easy to use and enhances its new features
such as its drag and drop capabilities. It also
makes Registry Pro perform its tasks faster.
* First Aid has an increased support for Windows ME
operating systems. It also added more hardware
checking capability covering serial port, parallel
port, memory and system hardware checks.
* Rescue Disk has now added support for Zip250 drives.
This will enable users to create a Zip Rescue Disk
for booting their computer in case of a system
failure.
* Inclusion of QuickClean Lite. McAfee Utilities now
uses QuickClean Lite. This is the component that
enables you to get rid of unused files and invalid
shortcuts. You can set up QuickClean Lite to get
rid of unnecessary files and junk on your computer
at regular intervals while you work.
* Improved shredding capabilities. McAfee Shredder now
offers improved shredding capabilities with its custom
feature that allows you to indicate how many shredding
passes you want to make in deleting files. It allows up
to 99 passes.
* Image selective restore options. Once an image is
created using the McAfee Image, the user is now able to
selectively restore an individual drive or drives.
Note: Users can only restore if there are significant
differences between the image and the system.

DC1 - DOCUMENTATION
Network Associates provides each of its
products with an extensive set of documentation,
consisting usually of one or more product guides
saved in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format
(.PDF), and an online help system, whose form
can vary, depending on the platform on which the
product runs.
Acrobat .PDF files are flexible online documents
that contain hyperlinks, outlines and other aids
for easy navigation and information retrieval.
You can also install an Acrobat plug-in file
that allows you to read .PDF documents from
within your web browser while online. Copies
of the product documentation come with the
product CD-ROM.
A copy of the free Acrobat Reader also comes
with the product CD-ROM or is available from
the Adobe website at:

Most Network Associates products can include a
documentation set drawn from these components:
NOTE: Not all products will include all listed
documents. Consult the User's Guide or
Administrator's Guide that comes with
your product for a complete list.
* A printed Getting Started Guide, which
introduces the product, provides
installation instructions, outlines product
features, and provides a brief overview. In
many cases, an electronic version of this
guide will also be available on the product
CD-ROM or from the Network Associates FTP
site in Adobe Acrobat .PDF format.
* A UserÆs Guide saved on the product CD-ROM or
installed on your hard disk in Adobe Acrobat
.PDF format. Network Associates User's Guides
document all product functions extensively,
and discuss how best to use your Network
Associates product to accomplish your tasks.
* An Administrator's Guide saved on the product
CD-ROM or installed on your hard disk in
Adobe Acrobat .PDF format. Administrator's
Guides describe how to deploy, maintain and
administer Network Associates server-based
products in a networked environment.
* Specialized guides. These can include
reference guides, deployment guides,
configuration guides, vulnerability guides
for intrusion detection software, and other
product-specific documentation.
* An online help system. Online help gives you
quick access to hints and tips about how to
use your Network Associates software. The
format of the online help system for the
product will vary, depending on which
platform or operating system you use to run
your Network Associate
